This course focuses on the core principle of treatment based on syndrome differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine, systematically explaining the TCM pathogenesis of insomnia, the classification of syndrome types, and the corresponding treatment approaches using Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. The course highlights various common clinical insomnia syndrome types, including liver depression transforming into fire, internal disturbance of phlegm-heat, yin deficiency with effulgent fire, heart-spleen deficiency, heart deficiency and gallbladder timidity, and heart-kidney non-interaction. It conducts a differential diagnosis and treatment analysis based on symptoms, tongue manifestations, and pulse conditions. The course also covers commonly used acupuncture points for treating insomnia. Furthermore, it analyzes relevant content on insomnia from the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic, the Essentials from the Golden Cabinet, and the Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders.
