Obstructive Sleep Apnea

This course will examine the etiology, pathophysiology, and approaches in acupuncture treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. It will discuss the congenital deficiency, airway obstruction, internal accumulation of phlegm dampness, emotional disharmony, etc. that cause dysfunction of the Lung, Spleen, and Kidney, Accordingly, it will cause an impairment of qi circulation and the obstruction of phlegm in the throat area. The content of the course also includes the individualized approach in acupuncture for patients suffering from obesity, hypertension, etc. The application of the Midnight-Noon and Ebb-Flow Acupuncture method of acupuncture in the management of apnea is provided as supplementary information in the course.
